On Monday, January 18, 2021 Deputy Adam Gibson and his K-9 partner Riley were shot and killed following a car chase. Deputy Gibson was a 6 year veteran of the department.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and the family of Deputy Gibson and K-9 Riley.
